I had to post this idea as I had recently envisioned doing almost the same thing with my paper flowers. Unfortunately I haven't found any appropriate twigs. Thank you Dida of Didazart.blogspot.com for being more resourceful than me in your twigs searches and posting this lovely little craft!

What a great idea for a little spring decoration. They will never fade! I have lots of twigs I could do this with.
