My husband recently surprised me with this portable photo studio from Sunpak (what a guy!) because he knew how much I could use it for shooting my products. Not only did it come with two compact folding halogen 50-watt lights and a small tripod, but it also has a reversible and replaceable seemless back drop, all packaged nicely in a handy dandy carrying case. I'm still experimenting with the best lighting configurations, but I am pretty happy with the results so far:
For this shot, I increased the exposure on my camera (just a typical point and shoot digital) because otherwise the image wasn't quite bright enough for me. I'm not sure this will be a general requirement or if I can tweak the light positions a bit and get better results. Either way, this baby gives me a lot more flexibility in terms of when I can shoot my products because I no longer have to plan for optimum natural light.
If anyone out there has experience with other photo studios, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Your husband sounds hot. I want to jump his bones. I'm sure you have to beat the girls off of him.
The perfect gift for you at this point.Very thoughtful.
The last two pictures seem a little washed off. More definition/contrast between background and subject may be more interesting in my opinion.
About the last two pics looking too pale... my computer screen color settings may need some adjustment. I will check that !
