Guy Stuff: Make a Guitar Slide

I had to post this because it is one of the first crafts I can remember my dad making years ago!!! A great post on Craftzine with links to a few tutorials over at Slideplayer.com. I'm not sure exactly how he made it, but I'm sure it wasn't using the "burning twine" method which sounds like a recipe for disaster, especially if  "find some old hemp twine, soak it in kerosene, wrap it around the bottleneck and light it on fire" is immediately follwed by "drink the contents".

Tres Bois: Wooden YoYo

Since I did a post on faus bois yesterday, I thought I'd follow up with some real bois today.

Yo-Yo like a boss with this sweet hand-crafted wooden classic complete with Cocobolo, Maple, and Wenge hardwoods and racing stripe design from etsy shop CreativeAddictions09 !

Perfect timing since my friend at work asked me the other day "when are you going to get some word working up there (on my blog)". This person also happens to be quite the yo-yo'er. So here it is, a woodworked Yo-Yo.

You know who you are.

Seriously guys, I think you are resistant because somehow the word "craft" has become associated with little old ladies crocheting doilies or sewing dresses for their doll collection or something. But we girls know there is a lot more to crafting than that. In fact, if you look up the word "craft" on dictionary.com, the first definition you find is: "an art, trade, or occupation requiring special skill, esp. manual skill: the craft of a mason". Masonry? Manual? How man-ly. Literally.

Take a look at these crafty, yet manly, tutorials I found. Learn how to:
