Tutorial: Coasters & Trivets

In case you did not get your fill of coasters with yesterday's post, you can also make some like these with tiles, paper napkins and a tutorial from Curbly:






Actually, the ones shown here are more like trivets (though I'm not sure how they'll stand up to heat) since I made them with large tiles. I also made a few minor modifications to the tutorial like wrapping the napkin around the edges and spraying with a generous coat of satin polyurethane. The napkins are from target and I chose them particularly for their hand-painted look. And unlike the tiles used in yesterday's post, you can use the cheapest, smoothest ones you find for this project, since they will be fully covered with a napkin anyway.

Now all you need is to mix up a tasty drink to go with all your new coasters! Cheers!
